Joseph’s Answer

Hi Alexis!

All of the schools listed are great schools and the answers provided certainly answer your question. In my opinion, it's not so much where you go to school that matters, but where you gain your experience that is going to make the difference. With that said, make sure that whatever school you go to offers an accredited degree, by the National Architectural Accrediting Board, whether it is a bachelors degree or a master's degree. An accredited degree is essential to becoming a licensed architect as it is required by NCARB, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Also, Intern early and often. You will learn so much about Architecture by working alongside profressionals. The experience you gain will also be super beneficial to your studies at school.

Another note about Architecture programs is that they vary in focus; some focus on design while others focus on technical abilities. Find what interests you and go there.

I hope this answers your question in a different way and helps.

Joseph recommends the following next steps:

Check that the schools your interested offer NAAB accredited degrees.
Learn about the school's program, and if it's something you want to take part in.
Intern early and often gain experience and perspective.
