Hi Nick,

Majoring in economics will prepare you just fine for law school! There are no undergraduate major requirements for going to law school, so you should focus on what interests you. Moreover, law and economic theory is a field of legal study that that applies economic theory to legal analysis. So if you enjoy economics, but decide to go to law school, there will still be opportunities for you to apply what you know to the law.

Excellent preparation for law! Just don't believe New Monetary Theory, the delusion that government spending can be limitless without harm.
Remember the multiplier from saving is larger than the multiplier from spending.

Priya’s Answer

Hi Nick,
I think economics is a great option for law school! If you enjoy the subject and do well in it, that's all that matters. Law schools don't require a specific type of field like other graduate schools. In fact, economics could help you because it applies to many situations.
However, keep in mind that you would probably need to go to law school or some type of grad school with economics, because if you decide to not go to grad school, simply having an econ undergraduate degree it would be hard to find jobs.
