Will opportunities for civil engineering grow in the near future?

I'm #undecided whether to become a civil or mechanical engineer. I know that America, where I live, needs about 3.6 trillion dollars by 2020 to address infrastructure repairs and that the bureau of labor statistics estimates that civil engineers have the highest growth projection (by demand) out of any engineer type. However, it seems that infrastructure is merely being thrown aside in the political arena and little plans have been made to address the issue.

To any civil engineer, do you think the opportunities for civil engineering will grow anytime in the near future? I have heard, from at least two civil engieers, that they have been unhappy with the current state of affairs. #civil-engineering #construction #ecology #sanitation #transportation

We are in the year 2021 now, 3 years ago Brazil was going through an opportune moment for civil engineering professionals. It turns out that we now have too many professionals, and the market does not provide as much employment in the field as before. We have many people with diplomas in need of job opportunities in their field of training. As for mechanical engineering, there is still a certain lack of qualified labor. The updates regarding mechanics are happening in a subtle way, and investing in this area can be a good idea for those who think about a close technology reality.
