To become a profiler in the FBI, you first need to be hired as an FBI Agent. To apply for this you need a 4-year college degree, must be a US citizen, have a valid driver’s license, and pass the FBI’s physical, psychological, medical & background exams. It’s a rigorous process that normally takes about a year to complete, but is well worth it. Being an FBI Agent is a very interesting and rewarding career. You can specialize in becoming a profiler after you are hired if you want to, as you can also request specialized training in undercover work, SWAT, evidence response, hostage negotiations, hazmat, bomb technician work, etc. Yes, it sometimes gets hard to do the job. The hours can be long and you might have to work nights, weekends, and holidays to work on your cases that might also cause you mental stress at times. The FBI provides good support for training and subsequent stress support if/when you encounter difficulties. It’s never too early to start preparing, so be very mindful of your postings on social media, as this will follow you throughout your life & can be discovered when you’re applying for jobs. Try to conduct yourself with honor and integrity, online and elsewhere. I encourage you to follow your dreams Morgan!
