[closed] What are some various positions you can encounter as you work your way up to a management position?

Hello,

I am a senior at Concordia University, and my concentration is business administration. I have learned a little about accounting, management, and economics. My major is management, and I was wondering what positions I can expect to see in various companies that are subordinate to the management position. I would love to know what a common career ladder would look like as well.

Thank you,

Aimee, I have worked in Finance and Business Operations roles across two companies(Fidelity Investments and Dell) and there are regularly business analyst positions that spans various functions that ladder up to manager roles. For example, at Dell, we have numerous roles that provide support for Sales, Operations, Marketing, Pricing, etc that have entry level business support roles. Those roles typically lead to a Analyst role in these functions, then a Senior Analyst or Lead role. As you develop business acumen, team work, and delivering results, this moves you up the ladder. It is always important to network across functions as your skill set is often transferable to other roles across the business which can help you grow your business knowledge which in turn will help your career growth long term.
