[closed] What are good indicators of great fitting job applicants?

Hello,

I am a senior and a business major. My actual major is management, and I have an interest in administration too. Soon, I would like to obtain a professional career and position as a manager or a manager in training. I would like to be on the lookout for things that can better suit me as a potential employee for a company. What would make me more marketable and attractive in the eyes of an employer?

Thank you,
Aimee #business #management

Wilfred’s Answer

Aimee,

I suggest that you apply for a suitable position where you can grow within the company and build expertise before you enter management. No company will let you manage a team without experience and proven ability to set a vision and work with and influence their most important asset, their people.
Start with jobs that you would like to do and where you can make an impact. You can be ambitious and aim for the top, but I suggest to remain humble yet eager in the eyes of the interview team. But before you even get an interview you need a solid resume. Many resumes are tossed quickly because applicants aim too high, and sometimes even when they aim too low. In summary, it needs to be the right fit for you and your employer to be happy. Show who you are, what you can do and how you plan to invest in yourself to get to the next level in the company in 2-4 years.

Good luck!
