Hi Mohammed,

There's no reason to think that your sister is wasting her academic years because she doesn't want to be a doctor. There's plenty of things she can do with engineering with a background in biology. Biomedical engineering is a fantastic subject that often works closely with professionals in the healthcare industry with roots in both biology and engineering. Many prestigious schools have great programs that combine the two subjects. In fact, biology is a crucial subject in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, and more. Engineering is also a fantastic way to help create things that people will use everyday.

The real answer is to be supportive of whatever higher education subject your sister wants to pursue. Those that follow their passions are far more likely to be successful in their chosen fields than those who were forced. I'd encourage you and your sister to learn more about engineering especially since the field could use more women!

I hope that answered your question!
