HI Mariah D.

If you like it, you may find it easy, but I think is a heavy and rush job, where you need to be awake all the time, but I think is a very satifactory job, where you can save lifes, and help people every day.

Tonya’s Answer

Yes, being an emergency nurse can be hard. However, for the nurses I know who work in the emergency room/department enjoy the variation of a slow and fast pace (sometimes emergency rooms are busy and sometimes not so busy), caring for a variety of patients’ healthcare needs, working as a team with doctors, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), nursing assistants, and family/friends of the patient. Also, emergency rooms are not all the same. An emergency room in the city can be different (busier) than an emergency room in a country type of setting or suburbs. They can be big or small regarding the number of patients that can be seen.

I included a link below to the emergency nurses association where you can look around to find information on nurses working in the ER. Enjoy.

All the best in your studies to become a nurse.
