Are there different types of athletic trainers?

No, most athletic trainers share the same credentials based on the state regulations (some states require certification while others require licensure). We all take the same national exam (BOC). The things that separate ATs are experience and additional credentials other than the ATC. I believe most professional level ATs are also physical therapists.
