Are the working hours of an anesthesiologist grueling?

I'm asking because I am interested in becoming an anesthesiologist but I also want to be able to have a family someday and don't want a job that would interfere with that #doctorate

As an Anesthesiologist one has a variety of job openings which include daily eight hour jobs with no night calls or jobs with overnight calls.
The daily jobs are easier on paper but some of them have challenging cases which require a lot of work ,on the other hand some of the overnight calls just need input on as needed basis.
So you can definitely have a work life balance if you choose wisely but be ready for surprises as in today's day and age the employer is always concerned about the productivity.
Finally, you should go into anesthesiology only if you enjoy the field.
