What experience can I get to become a professional cosmetologist? Also what company pays the most?

I am not sure what career I want in the future but I am very interested in cosmetologists, How much they are paid and their everyday life? I want a career that I will be happy with and will not struggle with money. #college #career #cosmetologist #companys

The US Department of Labor information in ONET can help you to see national information for cosmetologist and related careers https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/39-5012.00 If you follow that you link, you can see an overview of what the job entails, that most people in the field need a post secondary certificate, that the wages aren't great at least to start off with, but there are plenty of openings. Maybe you could ask a local salon if you could spend the day shadowing a cosmetologist before you undertake expensive training. Also remember that colorists need to have a lot of science knowledge, so if this is not a strong subject you should consider maybe just barbering.

Talk to someone who does the type of job you are interested in.

If this is what you want, perhaps you can get a job as an assistant. Then you will be able to see how a salon runs when it is really busy. Regarding pay, it depends on the type of salon and your experience. If you open up your own salon, then your income becomes limited only to how much business you have and how many people are working for you.
