How do I start a business for a interior design service? Is there a need for interior designers?

Hi, I'm a junior in high school who's very passionate about interior design. I want to be my own boss or be the marketing manager of a business to take control of the initial look of the company.

Know your style and what you want to focus on. Having a style that you know will have success with others is important. To individual and you won't attract customers.

Next, start with a family members, friends, co-workers, etc.. Do small projects for them and document the results in a portfolio. Use the portfolio to establish a small website, facebook page, social network accounts. From there the online and the friends and family can be good word of mouth for other customers. Additionally, once you meet with prospective customers, you use the portfolio to establish confidence with new prospects.

the important thing is to start building up a portfolio of work that you can show to potential future clients. Start with friends and family or your own home. Ask them for a small budget and see what you can do. Build your brand on SM channels. You can also try getting internships with established designers to understand the process and learn how to "sell" yourself.
