The good news is after high school you have 2 years to decide what you want to do in college or junior college.
So take classes in a 2 year college and go for your AA degree.
While you are going through that, think about what career you will want to do for a very long time.

The normal first answer would be, go for what you like or love or are passionate about.
The normal second answer would be to go for what you are good at.
You could also think about what subjects in college you can withstand and get at least B's in. Think about an area/subject/industry that you can just put up with but is a more difficult degree to get, like Engineering or Biology. If you have the wherewithal to make it through a more highly specialized 4 year degree like those and obviously others, then go for that degree and that way you can make more money, instead of just going for what you love or are good at. Go for a highly specialized 4 year degree, like Finance or Computer Science. Do not go for a less useful degree like Fine Arts, Liberal Arts, Marketing, etc.

When choosing a career path, you should think about the things that you are passionate about doing. You can also think about if I had to do this career for free would I still do it. A lot of times people choose careers because of money and then they are unhappy. My advice is to find something that you enjoy waking up everyday to do.

This is a hard question, and one that we should all think about even as we go throughout our career journey!
I have a few recommendations for some things to think about:

Start with what are you good at? Are you really strong in math, in art, or in helping people. Think about where you already have skills
Also think about what you are interested in. What types of things, classes, groups, clubs get you excited? Do you love yearbook club? Do you look forward to babysitting your nephew and coming up with creative ways to entertain him? Or are you counting the days until the next science fair? The activities that make you happy, are great places to think about career options.

And then, what about your skills- are you extremely organized? are you very good at explaining things to others? leadership?

Organize your skills, your strengths, your interests, and even your weaknesses, and you can begin forming a list of possible career options.

There is an interesting article https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/how-to-choose-a-career that can help you organize your process, and even includes a self-assessment, which is an organized view and approach of some of the suggestions I have mentioned above.
Other suggestions include speaking with some people with different careers and even asking to shadow someone if their career choice looks interesting. And - you can also look for internships, appointments with HR, or reading articles and books.

And remember, whatever you do choose initially, be prepared that things may change as you go on your career journey.
Best of luck, and enjoy the process!
