It’s really impossible to answer this question, because 1) you don’t know how much aid you’ll be getting, and 2) the price of going to college will vary depending on the college. You will need to look VERY CAREFULLY when you are given a “scholarship” to see what EXACTLY it covers. Some cover all expenses, while others cover tuition only. See if you are offered a package of scholarship + loan - and remember, a loan has to be repaid! Offers should be made in writing. Writing is what you’ll have to do, with columns for various schools and costs. When everything is tallied, THEN make your decision.

Averagely you can't conclude on the amount since the differences in some schools are so wide and getting a mean could be misleading. Definitely you just need to apply and before applying seek either for fully funded or partly funded . That is to say you could end up paying nothing or you could end up paying upto about 70-90% of the initial tuition. Equally different institutions have different modalities.

Joanne’s Answer

Hello Paige- every college has a calculator tool on their web site. By utilizing this tool, you can get an idea of how much that particularly college will cost after you fill in the information requested. It is really variable by institution. Scholarships as well as need based aid will reduce the cost for you and your family (if applicable). You should plan to visit the colleges you are targeting and you can schedule visits with the Financial Aid department to get more information. Every school should be very willing to help you with the process. The other important point is that your family (or you) most definitely need to complete the FAFSA form https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. Without that information in place, you cannot be reviewed for any type of financial aid including federal student loans. Good luck
