What are some prerequisite courses in college for computer science major?

as already stated, taking math classes in high school and challenging yourself is very helpful because in a computer science program in college, you will take a lot of math.

One of my children is a senior in college right now in a computer science program. Math, Math, Math.

If you hate math, a computer science major isn't for you. Good luck.

I would recommend you learn and practice some programming of your own. Practice daily on platforms such as hackerrank, leetcode, etc. This will help you enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Some of the prerequisites for a CS major are computer architecture, embedded systems, operating systems, and programming language based on your career path (Frontend/ Backend).

Always take all the Calculus classes that you can take in HS for that, plus all the extra Algebra classes that you can take including Linear Algebra.
