Graphic design can encompass many different things. It can be page layout, print design, web design. The best thing you can do is take a course or even some online courses to figure out what you are most interested in and explore the different mediums of graphic design.

Good question. I know a lot of graphic designers major in that in college.
But I know plenty of designers who followed a different path into graphic design.
A University major in design will include courses in fine arts, art history, English, Math, etc. Instead of a 4 year degree, you can take introductory graphic design classes online or at your local community college. That's a good way to find out if you like graphic design and the instructors can tell you more about it. You'll need a good computer or laptop, along with graphic design software, which you can research online. Learning the design software will take a few months but mastering graphic design will take a few years. Best advice is to get started, ask questions, and find people who are willing to share their knowledge. The good news is that designers are usually very cool people. Good luck!

Hey there! Just like everyone mentioned, it's a great idea to explore some form of Graphic Design education, be it pursuing a full degree or taking up a fun Skillshare class whenever you've got time. Building a strong foundation in design skills is always super helpful.

Plus, there are a bunch of cool ways to sharpen your design skills and show off your amazing talent! You could give an existing brand a fresh new look or come up with your own creative brief to design something entirely unique. And don't forget about helping out your friends and family with their design projects - it's a win-win!

Remember, experimenting, trying out lots of ideas (not just the first one that pops into your head), and creating a portfolio are key steps in your journey. Don't be shy to ask other designers or peers for their thoughts and feedback. Listening to their advice, being open to critiques, and being ready to fine-tune your designs will have you improving in no time. Good luck, and happy designing! 😊
