As a landscape architect, will it be possible for me to implement more landscapes and green into big cities? #landscape architecture

My dream as a landscape architect is to implement rooftop gardens, window boxes, and varieties of other things to make big cities greener. I want to know how possible it would be for me to do that after I graduate from the landscape architecture program, and if I can do that through a firm or if I should do that through my own firm, allowing for that to be our mission.

You can implement green or environmental technology anywhere these days but I will suggest that you take any kind of class leading to LEED ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ) where you learn more about environmental practices in real life situations.

As a Landscape Architect there are many different expertise you can work in, one being Urban Planning. Depending on what aspect of getting "green" into the city may help you decide what major you would want to pursue. Do you want to do "big picture" planning, more intimate "site specific" designing or working outside physically making the "green" happen. The different majors to consider would be Urban Planning for the "big picture", Landscape Architecture for the being in the office figure out a design for a site or Landscape Contracting where you can learn installing the green. Also, as another direction you may consider Horticulture or Urban Forestry. All parts of this world are exciting you need to figure which one you want to do on a daily basis!!
