) What profession did you choose? Why? I am a family practice physician. I was always better in the sciences and liked to solve puzzles and I think of medicine as trying to solve the problems that patients present. In medicine, you will never get bored because there's always something to learn. You can meet a variety of people. You have a stable job that pays well.

2)How many years of college did you need to go through? I studied Molecular Biology 4 years

3)What jobs did you work before you landed your present professional job? I only had small jobs during college like working in the music library.

4)How can I decide if I should earn a Ph.D. in this field? For a physician, you either have a MD or DO. A PhD is different. If you wanted a PhD, that would be an additional 4-5 years.

5)Were you in a college program? I just did had a bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology.

6)Did you have to pivot and go back to school at a later date? No. After high school, I finished college and then medical school.

7)Did you shadow another professional in the field? No. Unfortunately, I did not know anyone in the field to shadow.

8) Did you join any school clubs related to your current profession? Not really. In high school, I participated in yearbook, newspaper, tennis, volunteer groups.

9) Was there a particular subject you struggled with during your school years? I've always struggled with English.

10) What skill sets did you learn or gain while pursuing your career? I think it's very important to learn how to deal with people. This is not easily and I'm still learning.

11) What was the last stressful situation you encountered in your job, and how did you react? I think having patients complain. I did not react well. Usually I tell myself I'm going to retire. I just need to slow down and try not to rush. There's just so much to do and patients can sense it.

12)What's one challenge you occasionally or regularly face in your job? You have 15 minutes per patient and many patients come with several problems and it's hard to deal with all of the problems and chart.

13) What is your philosophy with medicine and treating patients? I think you need to realize that you cannot please everyone. Just do the best you can. Appreciate the patients that appreciate you and try not to have the patients that complain about you get you down.
