Daniel’s Answer

Hey Noah!

This is a great question! If I could only offer two pieces of advice they would be:

1. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I can't tell you how many people I have met that don't ask questions upfront and it hampers their learning down the road. It usually takes people a lot longer to learn their job skills if they don't ask questions upfront if they don't understand something. I would encourage you don't be afraid to speak up and to clarify if you don't understand a topic. Waiting down the road to ask a question that you learned days/weeks ago only does harm.

2. Be a team player in your role. I have heard many times in different roles that people will say in meetings that "they did this" or "I accomplished this". Nothing is wrong for taking credit but usually projects, tasks, etc. are a collaborative effort. Most people don't like to hear over and over again that "I did this" or "I did that". Being a team player will not only grow trust with your peers but shows management that you are willing to help people and the company succeed.

The above items will help you make a good impact at whatever company you choose to begin with. Good luck on the job journey!
