Hello Emiliano,

Here are some answers to your questions.

1. What does a typical day look like for Electrical & Electronics Repairers?
A typical day for an Electrical and Electronics Repairer involves finding and fixing problems with various electrical equipment. I often work on issues with relays, motors, cables, and breakers. I use tools like multimeters to check voltage and current, and I rely on diagrams to understand how circuits should work. The job usually involves about 40 hours a week, but sometimes more if there's an urgent repair. The work environment can be different each day, from quiet labs to busy factories or outdoor sites. The job can be physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, and lifting heavy parts.

2. Why did I decide to become an Electrical & Electronics Repairer?
I chose this career in my senior year of high school after talking to a Navy recruiter. This job stood out to me as something exciting and rewarding.

3. What do you like and dislike about being an Electrical & Electronics Repairer?
I love solving problems and the sense of accomplishment when I fix something. It's rewarding to see everything working again and people cheering and smiling. This job also offers great security, as skilled repairers are always needed. Even with new technology, there will always be a need for experts to keep things running smoothly.

Joe’s Answer

Hello Emiliano,
I can’t speak for an electronic repairer but can give you some insight as to my experience .
We used to repair circuit boards years ago but with the new digital technology, boards became disposable. I’m sure there is still repair shops though. If you get trained in electronics, it will open up a lot of areas to work in like industrial or telecommunications. It’s a great field in my opinion.
Hope that this helps you.
