Hi there! That’s a great question.

It all depends on what “worth” is to you. Being an ultrasound technologist is a great career choice. It is rewarding, and challenging. It is YOU that helps the radiologists to make the necessary diagnosis. Every person is different, and every day is different in the life of the sonographer. You can specialize in many different types of ultrasound, OB, Vascular, Cardiac, General, Breast. You can work in clinics, hospitals, Dr. Offices, mobile, etc. It pays well, and I doubt that you will ever lack for finding a job. I’ve been doing ultrasound for about 38 years, and I wouldn’t have chosen to do something else. It was definitely worth it to me. Hope this answer helps. Regards, Katie
