What college in Florida is the best to attend for pediatric occupational therapy ?

I really like working with children and wanted to get an idea of that field before going to college for it.

Thank you comment icon If you are wanting to know more about pediatric OT, you could call some pediatric clinics in your area and see if they would have someone you could talk with or shadow to see what their day is like. Privacy laws make shadowing a little more complicated these days, but I’ve had students interested in OT come and talk with us over lunch to get different view points and they have found it helpful to better understand what OTs do. You have made an excellent career choice! There are several colleges and universities in Florida that offer programs in occupational therapy. There are several factors to consider, such as the reputation of the program, the quality/quantity of the faculty, the availability of clinical placements, and the overall resources and support available to students.
The University of Florida offers a Doctor of Occupational Therapy(OTD) program with a specialization in pediatrics. The program provides students with a starong foundation in occupational therapy theory and practice, as well as specialized training in working with children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental and physical disabilities.
Florida State University offers a Master of Science (MS) in Occupational Therapy. The program includes specialized coursework and clinical experiences in pediatric occupational therapy, as well as opportunities to collaborate with other healthcare professionals in interdisciplinary settings.
Some other college you may want to research are: University of Central Florida, the University of Miami, and Nova Southeastern University.
It is important to research each program and speak with faculty, current students and professionals who are currently working in that specialized area with pediatrics to help determine which programs is the best fit for you. You have a good heart~ Best wishes for future success!
