I can only speak for Amazon, but they usually hire out of college through campus recruiting. The interview process for Finance right out of college was fairly rigorous. There were four back-to-back interviews including one technical Excel portion. I would recommend connecting with alumni from your university who have gone through the process before who can give you advice and pointers.

Chukwuemeka’s Answer

securing an internship at these companies isn't as hard as you .companies are hiring almost all the time, looking for quality people. One thing you can try to do is find associates amongst your friends and classmates who either work there or know someone who works there. Its easier to get a position in the company by going through someone who works there.

Martha’s Answer

This is an interesting question, Terrion. What do you see as the similarity between them, that they are large global companies? As Nancy mentioned, these types of companies often have internships or entry programs; look at the career section of their websites for more information. Also, check with your college career center for contacts, recruiting visits, etc.

The answer for how difficult depends upon what kind of job you are looking for. These types of companies need people to design and produce products and services, but also roles to support any business, such as human resources, procurement, marketing, sales, legal, finance, real estate, tax and more. You could create job agents on job sites, such as Glassdoor and Indeed, to track job types of interest or any job from specific companies. Sometimes you could create job agents on the websites of specific companies, too.

Good luck!

Martha recommends the following next steps:

Set up job agents on websites
Contact your college or job training career counselors

Nancy’s Answer

It’s important to work or intern while in college and a job training program at the same time of graduation. All these jobs are tremendously demanding physically and emotionally and they need experience from their employees to work. It is somewhat difficult to get into these jobs. I suggest doing a job you are good that’s entry level and work up to the next level of employment until you reach to those jobs.

Alex’s Answer

Hey Terrion - securing an internship at these companies isn't as hard as you might think. They're known for welcoming fresh talents, particularly those who are just stepping out of college.

The real question here is, what unique qualities can you bring to their table? What skills do you have that can contribute to their growth? The exciting part is, these companies are so diverse that they offer a wide range of roles. This means you're very likely to find a position that perfectly matches your abilities.

Remember, it's important to know what you're after, comprehend the company's requirements, and convince them why you, a fresh college graduate, are the perfect fit for them.

Wishing you all the best!

Keyston’s Answer

From my perspective, I've noticed that companies like Tesla, FedEx, and Amazon often have various job openings, but the competition can be tough. For recent graduates in the Bay Area, getting hired can be somewhat difficult. These companies might prioritize candidates with college degrees or specific training, which could put those without formal education at a disadvantage. But remember, life's journey can be unpredictable, and sometimes unique experiences like mine can lead to unexpected opportunities.
