That sounds like serious stuff! You might get some good ideas for what you want to do first or next by looking at this workbook (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/si/institute/registration?lang=eng) or looking at Dave Ramsey's book EntreLeadership.

Hi Ethan!

Embarking on the journey to establish a welding business can be a bit daunting, but the rewards can be immense. Here are some beneficial pointers to help you kick-start your venture:

Acquire essential qualifications/certifications: The first step to launching a welding business is to gain the required qualifications and certifications. This can be achieved by enrolling in a welding school or participating in an apprenticeship program.

Assess your market: Prior to setting up your business, it's crucial to analyze your market. Identify the types of welding services that are sought after in your locality and understand the competition you will be up against.

Gain experience as an independent contractor: To build your expertise and establish a reputation in the field, consider working as an independent contractor. This experience can be invaluable when you start your own business.

Invest in a reliable professional welder: A dependable, durable, and user-friendly welder is a must-have to kick off your business.

Establish your workshop: With the necessary qualifications and equipment in hand, you can proceed to set up your workshop. Ensure that the space is ample enough to house your equipment and materials.

Develop a business plan: A well-structured business plan outlining your objectives, target audience, and financial forecasts can keep you focused and on the right path as you launch your business.

Secure necessary licenses and permits: To legally operate your business, you'll need to secure the relevant licenses and permits. Consult with your local government to understand what is required.

Market your business: Boost your business visibility through advertising, leveraging social media, and word-of-mouth referrals. Consider enticing new customers with discounts or promotional offers.

I hope these pointers serve as a useful guide on your exciting journey to starting a welding business. Best of luck!
