Hey Cameron :) a good way to get started in real estate is to find a mentor or mentors. I would consider looking into social media influencers who provide information on breaking into the real estate industry. I would also ask your Teachers and peers about real estate. You never know when someone you know may have a connection that can help you learn more!

Hi Cameron, I had one of my former students speak to high school seniors about careers in real estate. She shared that she has a 4-year degree, but it is unnecessary. States require interested individuals to be 18 years old, have a high school diploma & a social security number. You will have to enroll in & complete a course at a real estate school to prepare you to take the state exam & pass with a 70% to obtain your real estate license. She strongly recommended that gaining experience is what matters in the field of real estate, like working in a real estate office, or property management office for a housing/apartment complex and she even suggested hotel management. Since you are still in high school, look into volunteering at a local real estate office.
