The initial phase of carving out a successful career is identifying your interests and understanding why they appeal to you. This can be effectively done by delving into various subjects at school or engaging in part-time work while studying. Pay attention to the subjects that captivate you the most and pinpoint what aspects of those subjects drive your success. It would be beneficial to establish a Linkedin profile and start networking with familiar faces. This could pave the way for internships or part-time roles in career fields you're drawn to. Gaining experience is the optimal method to develop your career. Acquiring a diverse range of experiences can provide you with a clearer perspective on what you truly seek from your job.
Just bear in mind, it's common to be unsure about the type of job you want post-college, and it's impossible to predict where your career might take you in the future.

Hey Eric, first, it is important to identify your skills, strengths, weaknesses, interests, and values. This self-reflection and self-assessment part is essential to understand what you are naturally good at. When you are good at something, you are probably going to make good money, you just have to put effort and develop even more your skills and what is going to take you to the next level. Try to connect to people who you admire and work at the career that you are pursuing, and understand what were their inspirations at your age and what made them choose this career path. Be bold, and have a positive attitude!

Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. Firstly, you need to find out what careers you have interest.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the college
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
