You can download the Door Dash app and apply. You must ensure you have decent transportation. Of course you must have a current Driver's License and insurance. You need to make sure that you have a phone to communicate any issues that may arise. I personally recommend that you work during day time hours as much as possible. By all means stay safe at all cost.

Michelle’s Answer

Hello, CVOH !

I am not a Door Dash driver, but I understand that this would be popular and desirable work because you get to set your own schedule, and you get to choose where you work and how much you earn. If you have a vehicle and a clean drivers' license and a smart phone, that is a start.

You can start to be a Door Dash driver at age 18. You cannot be 17 because of child labor laws. Door Dash cannot legally hire minors. You will need to pass a background check which also means a Motor Vehicle history report. Your car insurance policy should have your state's minimum coverage, too. If you don't have a car, you can use a bike, scooter, motorcycle or a truck. You're going to need to access the Dasher App so you need to use an Android or an iPhone smart phone.

If you're wondering about the Background Check, they are checking for DUIs, Stop light tickets, drug related traffic violations, Accidents, Driving without insurance and Speeding Tickets, even if it happened in a different state.

Door Dash has an online training for those who would like to be a driver. I have left a link to the training below.
I hope that this has been helpful and best wishes to you !
