Hi Jane!

This site is designed to match students with professionals in all walks of life. Imagine someone in land-locked Montana who wants to be an underwater welder. The likelihood of bumping into such a person in Montana is pretty thin. But, on CareerVillage, they can match up to someone across the country or even across the world who can help them with advice.

Also what is nice is because of the diversity of the professionals answering questions here, you will receive a range of advice and life experiences. We aren't all going to be telling you to pursue 6 years of college - and we will try to help you come up with different ideas on how to make college more affordable. We don't all agree, but, we are all trying to help you by giving you the benefit of our life experience, coupled with the reality that things ARE different today than they were when many of us started out in life.

Ultimately, the decisions are yours. But, decisions are not etched in stone. If you want to make a course-correction, we are here for that too! So, just about anything related to schooling or career can be discussed here. Using hashtags to help get it to the right professionals will help.

James Constantine’s Answer

Dear Jane,

I began my journey as a volunteer with www.careervillage.org in October 2023. This platform is dedicated to equipping under-resourced students and job seekers with essential information about academic programs and professional career guidance. It addresses specific queries regarding educational institutions, course durations, potential earnings, and options for career transitions in the future.

The platform also serves budding entrepreneurs seeking to develop a business plan for their ventures. Our professional counselors, some with over half a century of expertise in their respective fields, have advised over 2,000 students. We believe in guiding students gently, without any forceful persuasion. We merely present options.

The advice shared is documented and preserved, creating a valuable record resource for students, colleagues, parents, tutors, and educators to refer back to in the future. This site enriches the lives of youths and adolescents. There are many active discussions underway.

May God bless you!
James Constantine Frangos.

This website is like a friendly meeting place, designed to connect eager students with experienced professionals from all different fields. Think about a young person in land-locked Montana, dreaming of becoming an underwater welder. The chances of meeting a mentor in this field in Montana are quite slim. But here, on CareerVillage, they can easily link up with someone from anywhere in the country, or even the world, who is ready to guide them with helpful advice.
