Ojo job search engines are equipped with millions of listings and additional resources like career coaching, resume tailoring, create a detailed profile and blog posts full of helpful tips. Using a job website is one of the best and most efficient ways to search for and apply job opportunities.
The job search sites below all operate in much the same way: they allow you, the user, to create an account so you can search for your desired job title and set up job alerts, which send you periodic notifications (daily or weekly, if you choose) when a new job that meets your parameters is posted.

• INDEED is one of the most popular job search sites in the world and our pick for Best Overall. It’s very simple to use, and users can filter job listings by salary, location, job type (contract, full-time or part-time, entry-level, remote, etc.) and more. You can save jobs that interest you on Indeed through your account, set up job alerts, and upload your resume to apply more easily. Once you apply for a job through Indeed, those employers or recruiters can contact you through the site. You can also take skill assessments on Indeed in a wide variety of fields, which are meant to show how proficient you are at certain activities. However, we found it’s quite easy to fool the system, so it may not accurately reflect your abilities.

• LINKED IN is a professional networking platform that allows users to create profiles and connect with co-workers, potential employers and others in their field. It’s essentially a large directory of professionals, which many companies and candidates use to find candidates and job opportunities. Much like Indeed, LinkedIn’s job search engine allows users to save opportunities, set up job alerts and take skill assessments to signal their abilities to employers. More features are available if you sign up for LinkedIn Premium, which lets you contact recruiters directly, see the jobs you have the best shot at, and practice with real interview questions to help you put your best foot forward.

• ZIP RECRUITER stands out for its great features aimed at employers and recruiters. When employers post a job on ZipRecruiter, the listing is automatically shared to more than a hundred other sites. ZipRecruiter also features a resume database that allows employers to search for the right candidates. ZipRecruiter integrates with popular applicant tracking systems, like Bullhorn and Greenhouse, so employers and recruiters can streamline their search. Users also have access to job post templates that take the guesswork out of hiring.

Hello, Ojo !

Welcome to Career Village ! You can come here for advice or assistance with student and career matters. Anything that has to do with what may be on your mind about that. I am glad you have reached out to us because there are many advisors on here that have experience and wisdom to share. It helps to ask basic detailed questions so that we can pinpoint our advice to your particular situation for the most accurate ideas.

I am not sure if you are in high school or college and what your age is and I do not know what types of jobs you are looking for but maybe I can help you out to get started. A most popular way to seek employment are at various websites like Indeed, Linked In and others like Simply Hired, Ziprecruiter. You can find these type of websites through a search on the internet.

It is also possible to go to your local Department of Labor which, in Texas, is the Texas Workforce Commission and I have left a link for it below. They usually have a lot of jobs that they can tell you about. Another way is to just drop in and apply at supermarkets, retail stores and other businesses. It all depends on the type of work you want to do. Don't hesitate to go to your local hospitals because sometimes there may be job openings for data entry, visitor desk reception, food service or something else that you can discover by visiting their Human Resource Department. Direct contact always makes it more of an experience and you will be able to practice your presentational skills by doing it in person.

By the way, if you are under 18, you will need working papers - a working permit - which is obtained most times through your high school administration office. You can visit them and inquire about it there if need be.

Other possible leads for jobs would be to inquire at your City Hall as well as the Chamber of Commerce for which I have left links to their websites for you below. They might be able to guide you to jobs that you are seeking and also may know of some that are not listed on the internet, so it's well worth a try.

Now that you have some resources, you can start your search for a job you would like that fits into your personal schedule and that you're interested in. I do hope that this is helpful and I wish you the very best !

Here are some benefits of using a job board:

Convenience: You can search for jobs from the comfort of your home, and you can apply to multiple jobs with just a few clicks.

Wide reach: Job boards often have a large number of listings, so you can find a wide variety of jobs to choose from.

Targeted search: You can use filters to narrow down your search results and find jobs that match your skills and experience.

However, it's important to be aware of spam and scams. Here are a few tips to stay safe:

Do your research: Before applying to a job, research the company to make sure it's legitimate. You can find information about the company on their website, LinkedIn, or Glassdoor, or Reddit comments.

Be wary of unsolicited emails or calls: If you receive an email or call from a recruiter about a job you didn't apply for, be cautious. Legitimate recruiters will usually ask for your permission before contacting you. Always check the grammar from a random email for a job.

Never pay for a job: If a company asks you to pay for a job application or training, it's likely a scam.
