What is something I should keep in mind for pursuing meteorology?

I'm a sophomore inn high school and still figuring out what I want to do as a career, but I've always found meteorology and weather interesting.

Hi Claire! If you want to pursue a career in meteorology, do some research or speak with a guidance counselor about the different types of job in the Meteorology Field. There is more than just Broadcasting, some other areas are in Aviation Meteorology, Marine Meteorology, Research, Teaching, The National Weather Service. There are so many ways to use a meteorology degree so wanted to add all the different opportunities to think about.

Violaine’s Answer

Hi Claire If you're interested in meteorology, focus on excelling in math and science courses, particularly physics and earth sciences. Consider participating in related extracurricular activities, like weather clubs or science fairs. Research colleges with strong meteorology programs and explore internships or volunteer opportunities at local weather stations.
