AI’s power lies in its ability to handle massive amounts of data, perform complex calculations, and automate routine tasks. As a result, it is reshaping jobs by enhancing our efficiency. While it’s true that AI could theoretically take over many types of jobs, the goal isn’t to replace the human workforce but to empower it, allowing people to focus on tasks that require uniquely human qualities like creativity, empathy, and complex decision-making.

There is a lot of promise around AI, and it tends to differ from reality. At least for now, corporate leaders tend to bank the future of their business on AI based on what they think AI can do going off what they hear from media hype. AI can do a lot, but right now AI typically cannot do what corporate leaders think it can, at least not in a way that results in successfully replacing workers. The problem is, they may not care as long as it saves money.
But make no mistake, at some point in the future (probably sooner than later), AI will end up replacing a lot of "thinking" jobs. It will even take a lot of manual jobs. Your best bet for securing yourself from massive unemployment is to either learn to be someone that can build, manage, deploy, and maintain AI, or put yourself in a position of leadership where you are making the big decisions for the direction of a company. Even those leadership jobs may not be save as AI results in downsizing and the need for more leaders dwindles.

It is a great question! I feel like it will be a "lift and shift" of job responsibilities. I heard one executive quote that it is like Excel, when Excel came out there were speculations that Finance and Accounting positions would be eliminated, but we know that is not the case. Someone still needs to provide the data to AI for it to work as expected. AI will continuously learn, but only from information that is provided to it and it will always need to be managed and be assured that information that is provided back to the end user is accurate. It is a great place to be and is a continuous learning experience for us also!
