Tara Ryan, BSN RN

Hey y'all,

I'm Tara!
I began my career about 10 years ago starting off in a technical high school where I learned to be a CNA in Massachusetts. I worked in a long-term care / skilled nursing facility in the float pool for 5 years while I went to nursing school for my BSN. When I graduated in 2017 with my BSN, I decided to pursue a nurse residency program that would better help me transition to the crazy world of nursing practice. I accepted a 2-year contract that brought me from MA to SC. Following 4 months in the classroom learning about critical care, I was matched to the Surgical Stepdown Unit of my hospital. After gaining experience and working up to becoming charge nurse, I decided to pursue the ICU. Having proper experience under my belt made this transition SO much easier, especially working in a level 1 trauma / teaching hospital. When I felt ready, I took the plunge to become a travel nurse which I've been for the last year and a half.

I've gotten to see and do so much in my career and this degree continues to offer me so much more even with just a four-year degree. Excited to see what other paths of nursing I will explore but also eager to help someone down a road I've been before!
