In layperson terms, what do you actually do at work?
I make websites work with enterprise solutions, some of which affect millions of people.
What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?
My first manager out of college told me this: "Take all the stuff you learned in college. Got it? Good. Now forget it all." At first, I thought "I spent four years slogging through school just to be told that it doesn't matter, and at my first job,, nonetheless? What kind of place is this??". After a couple of months working there, I realized my manager was right. Most of the information I learned at school I wasn't using, and instead I was looking at an entirely different technology stack. It isn't helpful to know just one tech stack. That's how some new "code academies" are roping people in. You won't need to just learn one way of doing things and be set for forever.
