What's the best way to make connections in the sports medicine world in order to accelerate my career after college?
I am starting college in the fall and majoring in kinesiology, with the end goal of going into athletic training or pursuing a career in physical therapy. I'm curious if there is a good way to get myself out there before I finish college, so that when I'm done, I can find somewhere I can pursue a career relatively soon after graduating.

Find internship/volunteer opportunities at local sports medicine clinics and or high schools. Also if you can afford it attend any regional or national conventions for PT/AT (usually a discount for students).

Look for a local sports orthopedic clinic. I currently work at an orthopedics and sports medicine physical therapy clinic. I would recommend getting a job as a physical therapy aide. You will be supervised by a PT, and having those connections down the line will be very helpful! It is typically easier to get this type of job in an outpatient setting.
