How should I study for statistics/higher math in college?

I’m a senior at Union City High School in Tennessee, and I will attend a community college to further my education. I would like to become better at studying for math. Which is why my question is about statistics/higher math classes in college. If you don’t mind helping me, that would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much!

Great choice.
Choosing the right community college where you will have research programs. Look for colleges with strong statistics or mathematics departments. Consider the faculty, research opportunities, and resources available. Make sure that the program is accredited.
Core Courses: In your statistics major, you'll typically take courses in:
Introductory Statistics
Probability Theory
Statistical Inference
Regression Analysis
Experimental Design
Mathematical Statistics
Computational Statistics
Mathematics Courses: Additional courses in Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations are often required.
Computer Science: Learn programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL, as they are essential for data analysis.
Electives: Consider electives in areas like data science, machine learning, economics, and other fields where statistics are applied.
Practical knowledge comes with doing internships during your downtime/summer.

Andrew’s Answer

The key question here is where you are in your math curriculum in your senior year in high school. The term higher math is highly dependent on the answer to the previous question.

If you have not completed Algebra I and Algebra II, you will be placed into Developmental Mathematics in college to prepare you for college level Algebra, College Algebra, which is the gateway to more advanced math subsequently.

Typically, College Algebra is the perquisite for Introductory Statistics in college. Even though some colleges do not require College Algebra as a prerequisite for Introductory Statistics, you will be much better prepared to go into Introductory Statistics with College Algebra background.

There are many more advanced courses in statistics. However, the prerequisite of these advanced statistics courses would be Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Ordinary Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, at the least.
