What are some ways to help retain biology info?
I am a freshman psychology major looking to minor in biology. I am struggling in general biology 1 and looking for some more effective ways to study. Flash cards do not help.

Hey Sophia! Gen Bio can be tough, especially if flashcards aren’t clicking. Try active learning methods like teaching concepts out loud (even to yourself), drawing diagrams of processes like cellular respiration, or creating story-based associations for complex topics. Use practice questions and quizzes to test understanding rather than memorization. Study in short, focused bursts (Pomodoro method) and revisit content regularly to reinforce it over time. Also, don’t hesitate to join or start a study group, talking through concepts with peers can make all the difference. You're capable, it's just about finding what sticks for you! Hope this helps, good luck!
