Will a score of 1160 on the SATs keep me from getting into Fairleigh Dickenson University?

I have not heard back from this University yet. I wonder whether or not they dislike my score, so I was wondering if the score I received is below the average score they accept. #Scoring #FDU #sat #admissions #testing #scores

Pranav’s Answer

The SAT score alone is usually not criteria to disqualify students from college admissions. Your score is certainly good enough to stand on its own. If it doesn't add to your profile, it certainly won't detract.

Recently the reliance on standardized testing for college admissions has waned. More schools are doing away with the SAT/ACT requirement entirely. The University of California system will not consider standardized test scores for admission this year. https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/admission-requirements/freshman-requirements/exam-requirement/

However, this means that there will be additional emphasis on the rest of the application, so you have the opportunity to make more of an impression there.
