How to find a job after I've graduated with my degree ?
I want to use my degree and excel in a career I love. I have used platforms like Indeed and ZipRecruiter in the past without any luck.

Hi Skyler -
It’s common to feel frustrated when job hunting after graduation, especially if traditional platforms haven’t yielded results. Here are a few tips that should help.
Leverage Your Network:
Alumni Network: Contact your university’s alumni association. Many alumni are eager to help recent graduates.
Professors and Career Services: Reach out to professors and your career services department. They often have industry connections or know of open positions.
LinkedIn: Optimize your LinkedIn profile and connect with people in your desired field. Don’t hesitate to reach out to recruiters or individuals in companies you admire.
Go Beyond Job Boards:
Company Websites: Many companies post jobs directly on their websites. Research companies you’re interested in and check their careers sections.
Internships: Consider internships, even if you’ve already graduated. They can lead to full-time positions.
Networking Events: Attend industry conferences, career fairs, and workshops to meet potential employers.
Refine Your Approach:
Tailor Your Resume and Cover Letter: Customize your application materials for each job you apply for, highlighting relevant skills and experiences.
Practice Interviewing: Practice your interviewing skills with a friend, career counselor, or through mock interviews offered by your university.
Volunteer or Freelance: Gaining experience through volunteering or freelance work can make you a more competitive candidate.
Bottomline, stay positive and keep pushing forward! Finding the right job takes time. Don’t get discouraged, and keep refining your approach.
Best of luck!

Looking for a new job can be an exhausting process but rewarding once you find the right position. LinkedIn is a great resource for networking and searching for jobs. I highly recommend keeping your profile updated. I would also recommend keeping an open mind when looking for a position. Be sure to consider all of your skills and abilities and broaden the scope of your search. Even if something may not seem like a perfect fit, sometimes getting your foot in the door can help you work towards your dream job. Good luck!

Hi Skyler,
Finding a job you love in your field can be a journey, but it's definitely worth it! It took me a couple of years after graduation to land my dream role, so you're not alone in this.
One great approach is to aim for a company you admire. Even if your first job there isn't perfect, it's a step in the right direction. Once you're in, keep an eye on internal job postings for roles that excite you. In the meantime, use your academic skills and work on building soft skills like improving processes.
Also, think about trying a summer internship or a part-time job with a local company. Your network and job boards can be great resources to find these opportunities.
Remember, building a career you love takes time, but every step forward is progress. You've got this, and I wish you all the best in your job search!

Hi Skyler
It is wonderful that you are looking and planning ahead!
Additional to the job boards, alumni expanding your network is important. It is important to keep an open mind and also be flexible and adaptable to situations. For instance, you may explore volunteering or part time roles to start with. That gives you an opportunity to know about the role and gain experience which is wonderful as highlights in your resume. Also, you never know how these opportunities may grow into a full time employment in the long run!
Admittedly, the process sometimes can be long and tiring. But don't not be discouraged, keep trying because every challenge is an learning opportunity. It allows you to learn, gain confidence and know more about yourself to move forward. Do not compare yourself with others as sometimes what works for others may not be suitable for you. You are special and it is important to find your worth. Do not be afraid to say no as well.
Remember, moving forward is not because you have all the answers. But because you are willing courageous and willing to try!
Stay positive , keep learning and moving!
I believe in you, you got this!
Kind regards,
Vanessa
