What is one communication or business skill an aspiring fashion design student should have learned and adquired during their college years?
Since the fashion industry is both art and business related, I just wanted to see what other previous or current fashion design students or even business and communication students would recommend as the most important skill to have to thrive well in the industry. Of course it doesn't have to be fashion major related but I just said so in the question since I want to be a future fashion designer.

This is a great question, however there is not one skill but many that you will need to be successful in the design industry. You will need to understand how to use various communication platforms such as social media, email and professional networking. You will need to have an understanding of the fashion market to determine what is popular of trending to become popular.

Great question! Skills that generally applicable to all are:
- General business acumen knowledge - how many quarters are in a fiscal year? What do commonly used acronyms mean? What is a standard sales cycle? What are current trends impacting the fasion industry from a business perspective (Factors such as Tariffs, global policy, AI/tech advancements, etc)
- Soft skills: Active listening, proactive communication, general dining etiquette if you will be attending group events or formal events would be helpful too.
