What was your journey to, and through, medical school like? Did you always know that you wanted to be in the healthcare field?
I'm currently a graduating high school senior and my favorite subject in school is science. I want to join the healthcare field but haven't decided on a career path yet. However, I have experience volunteering at skilled nursing homes and hospitals before and know that I want a career that is medical related.

Linh- It sounds to me that want to be in the healthcare field directly involved in the care of patients. There are several ways of doing this: Physician, Physician Assistant, Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, Physical Therapy, etc. After High School you'll need a college degree and post-graduate training for these careers. You should consider your lifestyle afterwards. What are your expectations of work/life balance? Which career would be a good fit?
Lots to consider and you're early on in the decision-making process.
Take it step by step:
-Get into a good college. If you're thinking about a career in Nursing or Physical Therapy, make sure the college offers those programs. Most schools offer pre-med programs.
-Do well in college
-Take the MCAT exam should you decide on a career in medicine
-See where you are at this point

Linh- Your experience in Healthcare field seems versatile. I a COTA (certified occupational therapy assistant) did my associates in applied sciences from community College, I do have a bachelors, I work in a skilled nursing facility in rehab and have worked in different settings. There are full-time, part time and per diem positions offered. I have raised 2 kids who are young adults and of them is studying to be in Healthcare field. It entirely depends on you which path you choose and how much work/life balance you want to keep. There are workaholics who still have a life.
