How do I feel more secure in my choice of major?
I'm majoring in fashion, and I know I like it as a hobby, but how do I secure myself that I want it as my future?

Great suggestions from Mark and Syeta so I'll just add a couple more ideas and insights. First, what jobs excite you within fashion? Fashion is a huge industry and you could take very traditional jobs (lawyer, accountant, sales, etc) and still work in fashion. Once you have a better sense of the type of job you want to do, think about the skills and experience you need for that career. If you want to be a designer or in marketing, are there other courses or programs, internships, or training that you need to develop those skills? Start to map out some career paths within the fashion industry and focus on the particular job and what you want your day to day to look like so you can get a better sense of what to pursue. There are so many jobs and opportunities within fashion, I'm sure you'll find something you love!

1. I agree with Mark's answer related to taking on an intern position in fashion to see how that looks or feels to you.
2. If you are concerned about the career outlook in fashion as a major, you can always double major or minor in another field of interest that has more sustainable growth and opportunities like Healthcare, IT, Business/Marketing, etc.
3. I am unsure if you are going to a 4-yr college or not, but if you are, usually you have to take other non-core major related courses towards your major. Use that opportunity to explore other fields of study too. Maybe something will click and you will want to add that path for yourself.

Two things come to mind:
1 - Take a job in the field, any job, even if it's just summer work or something part-time you do while going to school.
2 - Don't worry so much about the major. Take a job after school and be flexible. Focus on career training at work. They will provide tuition assistance for grad school or a certification.
