What advice would you give someone who is returning to college for the second time and is unsure they are making the right decision? #Spring25

For context, this will be a major career change and I am older so it is a bit scary. Thank you! #Spring25

Hi Priscilla,

My mother-in-law started chiropractic school in her late 20s after already starting her professional career. She found her calling and while she may have been one of the older people in her classes, 30+ years later she does not regret the decision. I would encourage you to find something you are truly passionate about and pursue it with full force.
As they say, age is just a number - it shouldn't be a criteria in your decision making process! You got this!

Take career assessments to better determine your interests, preferences, aptitude, abilities and personality and what occupations and careers best match your profile. Your college's career services office will have such assessments and will assist you in interpreting your results and corresponding careers

Congratulations on taking the step to go back to school - what an exciting time for you! I definitely say believe in yourself, and remember learning will bring challenge and fun. Lean on your experience to help guide you as select your area of study and classes. If you have an interest, elective classes provide a great way to help you explore that interest further. And be get to know your classmates and professors - it's amazing how those relationships can shape and guide you. Good luck!
