Diane’s Answer

Jasmine,
I got a BS in information technology and worked in the field for some time. Then I decided to switch careers and become a mental health counselor. I needed a master’s degree to do that, so I applied to Liberty University’s Clinical Mental Health program. All they required was I have a bachelor’s - the industry did not matter. I just graduated with my master’s in counseling and am beginning in the mental health field. It is possible. Let me know if you’d like to talk further :)

Blessings,
Diane

Austin’s Answer

Jasmine, good question. The answer to your question could be both a yes and a no, it honestly has the potential to vary between different universities. Some universities may state that to apply to a masters program in psychology, you need to have a BA...or they may not. If you already know the schools that you want to apply to, I suggest looking online to see what their application requirements are as well as calling the university and asking them what their application requirements are.

I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck!!

Best,

Austin
