Hello, Holland !

You will be happy to know that for acting and singing, improvement comes over time - so, you've got this ! All you need to do is keep acting and singing and it's awesome that you are doing it at a young age !

Many, many moons ago, when I was your age as a student in private school, a classmate friend (who was a professional ballet dancer at age ten whose parents both super-micro-managed her career) and I started talking about "putting on a show" at school. Once the teacher and Principal said yes, my friend and I started choosing classmates to be in it. She did a ballet solo, I did a comedy routine with another classmate, other classmates did ensemble singing or solo dancing and at the end we all did this sort of circus skit that was really funny. You can very well do something like this at your school after obtaining permission from your Principal and teacher. Use every opportunity to perform !

Actors and singers really obtain professional growth by having a diverse amount of experiences. Doing plays, musicals, and variety shows even being in school video projects will provide the variety you need to grow as you move along. Don't hesitate to take on leading roles, under five parts, feature or extra work for projects at school. Continue this in Junior High School, High School and consider going to college as a Theatre Major for Acting during which time you can take singing courses, too. You have a very exciting path for growth for your career ! Improvement will always be there !

For those who hear and see you act and sing, ask for feedback. Your teachers and directors will always be able to help you with elements that you need to work on. Be patient. The performing careers take a lot of time and each actor and singer has a different experience with it.

You can also seek out Theatre or Music Camps during the Summers and ask your parents to help arrange it. If you can find an Acting or Voice teacher where you live while you're not in school, and ask your parents if you can take private lessons which will be a lot different than what you get in school at this time.

Enjoy each show that you do, take every opportunity to act and sing and you will have built up a fabulous foundation for your future ! I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !

That is great, you want to do a lot of practice and also believe in yourself. If you start, there it will make a big difference. Otherwise, I would find areas that you can get involved to practice singing and acting more. Maybe it's choir at school or even a drama class to participate in a play. If you can't find anything at school, looking at a local club or a theater in the community could also be helpful!

Hello Holland,

It must be thrilling for you to explore these creative activities. Here are some ways to grow your skills and achieve the progress you want:

Check out the programs at your school. You might find dance clubs, choir, band, drama clubs, and more. Make sure to look into all of them.

Local youth groups might also offer performance opportunities. Ask your parents to help you find these.

Remember, it's important to keep up with your other studies while you follow your passion.

It's fantastic that you're eager to practice a lot and have faith in yourself! Try to find opportunities where you can sing and act more often. Joining a drama class could be a great start. It will help you feel more at ease performing in front of others and tackle any stage fright. If nothing is available at school, check out local clubs or community theaters. You've got this! Good luck, and break a leg!
