Rebecca’s Answer

Thank you for your question. I am glad that you would like to improve your school grades.
Firstly, identify a time management tool to help, eg ms outlook, Google calendar, your phone, etc
Below are your suggestions:
1. Put down the time you need to attend classes
2. Assign some time every day on your assignment & projects.Review the material covered in the class every day. If you have any questions, ask the teacher on the next school day.
3. Make sure you have enough time to sleep and do some exercise
4. Allocate more time for revision before assessment. Start the revision schedule as early as you can.
5. Form study groups with your classmates.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!
Thank you comment icon I agree with the suggestion about using time wisely, because as a high schooler I sometimes get left behind on the lesson and instead of catching up I procrastinate with games and lose valuable learning time. Pearl

Here are some tips which helped me when I was in school:

✅ Use a planner – Write down homework, tests, and deadlines.
✅ Study a little every day – 45 minutes to an hour is better than cramming.
✅ Ask questions – In class, after class, or with friends/tutors.
✅ Get enough sleep – Aim for 7–8 hours a night.
✅ Take breaks – Short walks, music, or stretching to reset your mind.
✅ Stay active – Exercise helps focus and reduces stress.
✅ Start small – Improve one subject or habit at a time.
✅ Stay positive – Mistakes are learning opportunities and is part of life.

Dear Bella,
I suggest the following ways to do better in your present classes.

1. You should regularly use the tutoring services offered by your school to work on improving your performance in the subjects you haven't done well in.

2. You should study and do your homework regularly with one classmate (study partner) or more classmates (study group) after school. Try to find a classmate who is doing well in each class you are taking to be your study partner.

3. You should review and prepare for your tests and exams together with your study partner and study group.

4. You should also meet with the teachers of the classes you are taking after class or by appointment to get additional explanation, help, and guidance with your course materials, class assignments, and homework.

5. You should review carefully your class notes at the end of every day to better understand and retain better the concepts learned in class on that day.

I hope these suggestions are helpful to you. Good luck with your learning!

Great job on wanting to get better!

Before you dive in, try listing what you're good at and where you might need a little help. This will help you make a plan.

Once you know what you want to work on, look for resources. Does your school have tutoring? Many local libraries offer free or cheap tutoring too.

Set up a schedule for your tasks, so you can focus more on your goals. These are some helpful steps to start with.

Andrew’s Answer

It's completely normal to find some subjects challenging, especially when you're just starting out. Feeling stressed doesn't mean you're not capable. In fact, it usually means you care and want to do better.

As for some practical steps to improve, consider some of these:
1. Build a Routine – Set aside consistent study time each week instead of cramming. Even short, regular sessions add up.
2. Break It Down – Focus on one concept at a time rather than trying to master everything at once. Small wins build confidence.
3. Use School/Campus Resources – Take advantage of office hours, tutoring centers, or study groups. Talking through the material often makes it click.
4. Practice Actively – Don’t just reread notes—solve problems, quiz yourself, or explain concepts out loud as if teaching someone else.
5. Find Your Best Learning Style – Some people learn visually (diagrams, charts), others by listening (lectures, podcasts), and others by doing (practice problems). Experiment and stick to what works best for you.
