Choosing a career can be tough, especially when future jobs might not exist yet. Here are some steps to help you decide after high school:

1. Think about what makes you happy and gives you a sense of purpose. Look for careers that fit these interests. For example, if you like helping others learn, consider becoming a teacher.

2. Talk to someone who works in a field you're interested in. Ask if you can interview them or shadow them at work.

3. Reflect on how you learn best. Do you prefer hands-on activities, or do you enjoy reading and writing? Consider if you're up for physically demanding work. Decide if you need more education or if you can start working right away.

4. Picture the lifestyle you want. Will your chosen career provide enough money to support that lifestyle?

5. Think about your personality. Do you prefer working alone, or do you enjoy being part of a team?

Hello. There are some jobs that are quite suitable for students. One common option is part-time work in retail or food service. Jobs like cashier, sales assistant, or working in a café or fast-food restaurant are popular with students. These jobs usually offer flexible hours and help you build important skills like communication, time management, and teamwork.

If you're interested in working from home or using your talents, there are online options too. You could try tutoring younger students, especially in subjects you're good at. If you enjoy writing, you could try freelance writing, blogging, or helping manage social media for small businesses. Some students also work as virtual assistants, helping with simple online tasks like replying to emails or organizing data.

Creative students can also find small jobs related to their interests. For example, you could design posters, edit videos, or help make content for social media. These jobs may not always pay a lot at first, but they help you build experience in areas you enjoy.

You can try different things and see what feels right for you. Over time, your interests and strengths will become clearer.

Thank you for your question. Firstly, you have to think about what you have interest. There are more new types of careers these days, e.g. Youtuber, Media content creator, esports athletes, etc. Some traditional jobs are no longer required. However, you better find out what careers you have interest.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about what you have interest, e.g. your hobbies, favorite subjects, etc. and identify the related careers
E.g. If you like music, would you like to be a musician, musical artist, singer, music composer, music producer, etc.
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, finance manager, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Hello Yongyi,

It is good that you are thinking about possible different jobs and careers. In terms of good part time jobs for high school students it would include things like being a bartender, server, lifeguard, cashier, retail jobs, fast food, receptionist and delivery driver for example. In terms of full time jobs there are many different things you can do depending on what degrees you have and what your interests are. For example, there are jobs like teachers, nurses, doctors, salespersons and construction workers that are common in this country. I would just say to find something that interests you, do research over the possible job or career, focus on improving your skills, try different jobs or opportunities and be the best version of yourself everyday. You will find something that interests you and I wish you the best of luck on your employment journey!

Hello! It's completely normal to feel confused about your future career path while in high school. It's a big decision, but also an exciting opportunity to explore your interests and find something you're passionate about.

Focus on exploring high-growth fields for the future. Today's most popular areas include Technology (like AI, Data Science, and Cybersecurity), Healthcare, and the Green Economy (like renewable energy). Business fields like Digital Marketing and creative roles in UX Design are also in high demand.

To find your fit, start by identifying your interests and skills. Research careers online and talk to people working in jobs that seem interesting. Try to get hands-on experience through internships, volunteering, or school clubs.

This is a journey of discovery, so don't pressure yourself to have a final answer right now. Stay curious and keep exploring your options!
