Hi, Anthony !

You're in 12th grade now, but once you obtain your degree in Building Construction and graduate college, several internship opportunities in construction supervision are available near Hastings on Hudson, NY, particularly through state and regional programs. These are some current opportunities for college graduates: The Joint Internship Program through the New York State Department of Transportation and the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York, and the Associated General Contractors of New York State.

The New York State Department of Transportation offers summer and temporary employment opportunities for students pursuing degrees in engineering, construction management, or related technical fields. These positions are full-time (up to 37.5 hours per week) and require completion of at least 12 credit hours of college study, with eligibility for those in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or similar programs.

The New York State Dormitory Authority also provides paid internships for college students in construction and project management, with placements available across New York State, including in New York City and other regional offices. Also check with ARCO and Pullman Services because they offer full time positions in project management, so contact these places once you have your degree and for the NYS Dormitory Authority, while you are a college student.

I know you're requesting the "best" but these are the opportunities near you and it's a matter of applying for them and waiting to hear back. They all sound as though they will provide substantial experience for you.

I hope this helps and I wish you lots of success !

Michelle shared some great advice, and I would also suggest looking into an internship with the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), which has a chapter in New York. I served on the CMAA Internship board for several years and took on interns from their annual program. Some of these interns ended up working at our construction management company in Los Angeles. The CMAA Internship program connects you with various public and private companies, allowing you to choose between working with a builder, a transportation agency, or a construction management company like ours that handles public works projects. CMAA also offers the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) accreditation, which is recognized globally and is often required for lead Construction Managers.
