It looks like you're still waiting on a response from a cardiovascular sonographer so I wanted to jump in with some information that might help!
While I can't speak to the challenges of the career, I can share more on the process. According to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine of Science (https://college.mayo.edu/academics/explore-health-care-careers/careers-a-z/cardiac-sonographer/) you will need to:
1. Finish high school if you haven't already
2. Complete either an associate's or bachelor's degree in sonography. I would do some research on the job opportunities available at the associate's versus bachelor's level
3. Complete a certification specifically for cardiac sonography
4. Depending on the state you practice in, you may need to obtain a license, which usually requires some sort of test
