Hi Cody,
Thanks for your question. Internships are great for applying your skills to real-world situations, but they're not always available to everyone. Big companies often list them through universities, and they look for college-level skills. And timing is key.
To boost your chances, check job websites like Indeed for summer opportunities. Also, consider taking classes at community colleges or vocational schools to gain valuable skills.

Hi Cody. Many companies, architecture firms, and engineering organizations offer internship programs specifically designed for students who are exploring these fields. One effective way to find these opportunities is through your school's career center or guidance counselor, or STEM-focused programs, which often have partnerships with local firms and can connect students with internships, summer programs, or shadowing opportunities.
Another approach is to reach out directly to companies or firms, even if they don't advertise internships. Sending a short, polite email to express your interest and willingness to learn can make a strong impression. Include a resume that shows any relevant coursework, projects, volunteer work, or personal projects related to engineering or architecture. Even small things, like designing models, building structures, or participating in STEM competitions, can show your dedication and skills.
LinkedIn and other professional networking sites are also useful for finding professionals in your field and learning about potential openings.
Volunteering can also give you valuable experience. For example, you could help with local construction projects, community design projects, or engineering competitions. These experiences may not be formal internships, but they still look great on a resume and teach you important skills.
