How can my application stand out for the admission acceptance team?

I asked this because I want to be unique and I want to stand out in a big group of applications to be able to get accepted.

Hi Gamal - this is an excellent question, and Yasmin has given you excellent advice. A few more thoughts:
- I agree with Yasmin that you do not need to have a lot of activities, just a few for which you can show your contribution or personal growth
- Your choice of courses should balance challenge with your physical and mental health. In other words, take the most challenging courses you can while still staying healthy.
- Your Common Ap essay (and supplements) should be easy to read, but are not a creative writing exercises. Focus on showing who you are and how you see the world, not elaborate descriptions of the scene or situation or what someone else did or said.
- You could write about almost anything in your personal essay so long as it illustrates something about you that you want the Admissions office to know. If you write about an obstacle or sad event, be sure to show how you overcame (or are overcoming) it and how you have grown because of it. Don't leave it at the downpoint.
- Take some time completing the activities list on. the Common Application. It looks easy because each entry is short, but the shortness makes it difficult to fit everything in.
Wishing you good luck!

Yasmin’s Answer

Hi Gamal👋🏻...
To make your application stand out, focus on showing who you are, not just what you’ve done Colleges like students with unique interests, experiences, or perspectives.

Quality over quantity is important...one meaningful project or achievement is better than many small things. Highlight what you learned, how you grew, and how it connects to what you want to study.

Passion and initiative really shine... If you started a project, helped your community, or explored a subject deeply on your own, make sure that comes across.

Finally, personal essays and recommendations are your chance to show personality and character... Be genuine, specific, and let your voice come through.
